Privacy Policy

Summary

Mole does not require user accounts and does not collect personal information directly. We use Google Analytics and third-party ad networks, which may set cookies or read identifiers to measure traffic and serve advertisements. This page explains what runs in your browser.

1. Data we handle directly

• No Registration. We do not offer user registration or collect emails, names, or addresses.
• Server Logs. Our server records standard request metadata (IP address, user-agent, requested path, response status) for security monitoring and operational debugging. Logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days.
• Operational Metrics. We record aggregate request status, timing, page number, sort, category, and filter dimensions. Search terms are deliberately excluded from these metrics.
• Browser Storage. Mole keeps a small amount of state in your browser. None of it is sent to our servers:
  • Search history (last 10 queries) — held in sessionStorage and discarded automatically when you close the tab or window. Used solely for search typeahead suggestions.
  • Theme preference (light, dark, or system) — held in localStorage so it persists between visits.
  Clearing site data in your browser erases both immediately.

2. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, approximate geography, and device class). GA4 is configured with IP anonymization enabled and Google signals disabled. Page titles are withheld — on a search results page the title contains the query itself. This data is used solely to optimize features and guide development.

3. Third-party advertising

Mole displays advertisements served by third-party ad networks. These networks act as independent data controllers, processing identifiers according to their respective privacy policies. Display placements may load on browse, search-result, detail, and error pages; the legal-information pages remain ad-free. A new tab with an advertisement may open when you click a magnet link, on browse and detail pages only; the mechanism behind it is never initialized on search-result pages that contain a search term. Because an ad provider can receive the page URL as part of a normal ad request, a search term in the URL may be visible to that provider.

• Ad Providers. We work with third-party ad networks whose placements are loaded dynamically. Their respective privacy policies govern the cookies and identifiers they set.
• Data Collection. Ad networks may collect your IP address, user-agent, referrer, approximate location (country level), device class, and browser advertising identifiers. This data is processed for ad targeting, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and performance reporting.
• Cookies & Storage. Mole loads no advertising scripts, so no ad provider sets or reads localStorage or cookies on this site. Clicking a magnet link opens a provider page in a new tab, and that page may set its own cookies on its own domain. Mole applies no frequency cap; the provider may apply its own delivery rules.
• Opting Out. Use a content blocker, browser tracking protections, or OS-level ad tracking restrictions. Users in the EU, UK, and California have rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA, respectively, and can exercise them directly on each provider's policy page.

4. Server-to-server requests

When you load a search or detail page, our server retrieves the page from the upstream indexer on your behalf and returns the parsed metadata. The upstream request is executed by our infrastructure; the upstream indexer sees our server IP, not your client IP.

5. Children

Mole indexes adult content. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to access this service. By using this site, you confirm you meet this requirement. Mole does not operate an active age-verification system; access compliance is the visitor’s responsibility. Mole stores no user accounts or persistent search histories.

6. Your rights

Since Mole does not require user accounts or collect personal data directly, we do not store information that can be exported or deleted upon request. However, Google Analytics and the ad networks act as independent data controllers and may hold data subject to the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA. To exercise your rights, utilize the opt-out methods above or contact these providers directly.

This policy may be updated as analytics or ad providers change. Material changes will be indicated by updating the revision date above.
